Fabian Niestroj studied electrical engineering at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum and at Purdue University (USA). The focus of his studies was on analog and digital circuitry and measurement technology. Fabian Niestroj received a graduate degree upon completion of his studies in 2005
Afterwards, Fabian Niestroj was a research assistant in the faculty of Electronic Circuit Technology at the Ruhr University Bochum until 2011. During this time, Fabian Niestroj supervised a project that was carried out in cooperation with one of the world's largest automobile manufacturers. The project is the basis for Fabian Niestroj's dissertation entitled "3D Inertial Measurement Systems for Body Motion Analysis in Automotive Crash Tests". The Ruhr University of Bochum awarded Fabian Niestroj a doctorate degree in engineering for his dissertation.
Fabian Niestroj has been with the firm since 2011, where he also completed his training as a patent attorney. In addition, Fabian Niestroj completed his studies in law for patent attorneys at the FernUniversität in Hagen. His training as a patent attorney included further stopovers at the District Court of Düsseldorf, the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court. Fabian Niestroj was admitted to practice as a patent attorney in 2015.
